About the Ghost Writer, Carolyn K. Long
Carolyn K. Long, president of MD-based Corporate Communications Company, is a writer, photographer, and professional public speaker who conducts keynote presentations and seminars across the country when she’s not writing.
She reveals the secrets of canine wisdom, and shows how canine values—of loyalty, play, love of nature and adventure; respect for the pack; ability to influence others—and, of course, doggedness—apply to the realms of communication, networking, relationship building, teamwork, health, stress reduction, professional success and personal fulfillment. See “Carolyn Speaks” and www.CarolynLong.com for presentation topics.
Carolyn is an entertaining lifestyle expert—on both human and canine issues—whose many regional and national TV and radio appearances give her an enthusiastic following. Her articles appear in a wide variety of publications.
Throughout her extensive professional career—as financial and feature writer for newspapers and magazines, college and TV educator, PR consultant, corporate marketing director, and video producer—Carolyn has become an ever-more articulate spokesperson for corporations, authors, and her own seminars. She now considers her highest calling to be that of ghostwriter to a dog.
She has been a nature lover since before she earned her “junior Naturalist” certificate from the DC Department of Parks & Recreation at about 12, and an animal lover since earliest childhood. She has cared for a wide range of animals, from cats, dogs, turtles and fish to snakes, chameleons, hamsters, chickens, wild baby rabbits and even an iguana.
With Shannon, she has truly become a Dog Whisperer. It was not by knowing a lot of dogs that she has come to understand the language of “Bark.” Just as Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s Little Prince learned about ALL roses by knowing and loving his one rose really well, so she has learned about all dogs by knowing and loving one dog really well.
